Our copier vendor wants to charge a transfer fee. Is that common?

Copier vendors and other equipment vendors sometimes charge fees to cover part or all of the following services: preparing the equipment for the move, transporting the equipment, and reinstalling the equipment at the new office. If you lease the equipment item, review your contract for the move clause. If you own your equipment and have a maintenance agreement with an equipment vendor, review that agreement for the move specifications. Keep in mind that an office move is the perfect time to upgrade your equipment, and that you can often avoid paying transfer fees in this situation.
